Welcome to Bexhill Choral Society!
We are a friendly, enthusiastic, non-audition choral society in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex and this year we celebrate our 70th year singing as a choir – our Platinum Jubilee!
We currently have over 50 members and warmly welcome new singers – particularly basses at the moment, but all voices welcome. Under our Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, we perform 3 concerts during the year, featuring a wide range of choral music.
We also organise social events and have a thriving support group of Friends.
Concerts & Events
On 7th May 2022 we finally performed our ‘Great Choral Classics III’ concert, originally planned for May 2020! This was much enjoyed by performers and audience alike.
From Wednesday May 11th we have been rehearsing two pieces for our next concert on 8th October 2022: Schubert’s Mass in A flat, which is full of wonderful melodies, and the rarely performed but joyously uplifting Bizet Te Deum. Our last rehearsal before the summer break is on 29th June, and we return on Wednesday 31st August. New members welcome!
We rehearse on Wednesdays at 7.00 p.m., usually at Little Common Community Centre, Shepherd’s Close, Little Common, Bexhill TN39 4SQ, but on the 4th Wednesday of the month at St Barnabas Church, Sea Rd, Bexhill TN40 1JG. Recent studies have shown that choral singing improves physical and mental health – it boosts the immune system, reduces stress, improves breathing and lung function, and releases hormones which create a sense of well-being. So why not give it a go? If you’d like to come along and try us out, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or get in touch via our Contact page. We’d love to hear from you!

The concert was accompanied by the Cinque Ports Brass and this selection includes the sparkling ‘Caribbean Christmas’, conductor Kenneth Robert’s rearrangement of familiar carols for brass.
