Welcome to Bexhill Choral Society!
We are a friendly, enthusiastic, non-audition choral society in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.
We currently have over 50 members and warmly welcome new singers. Under our Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, we perform 3 concerts during the year, featuring a wide range of choral music.
We also organise social events and have a thriving support group of Friends.
After our very successful concert of Christmas music and carols (described by an audience member as ‘a perfect evening’), our next concert on Saturday, 11 May 2019 will be music by John Rutter and the choir’s Director of Music Kenneth Roberts. Rutter’s moving and uplifting Requiem is a musical setting of parts of the Latin Requiem, with added psalms and Biblical verses in English, and is a favourite with choirs and audiences the world over, while The Sprig of Thyme is a suite of arrangements of traditional folk songs. Kenneth Roberts’ According To Thy Word was very well received when the choir performed it in 2010, and returns by popular request! The concert will be held on Saturday 11 May at 7.30 at St. Augustine’s Church, off Cooden Drive, Bexhill. Rehearsals start on January 9th.
Please see our Future Events page for more information on upcoming events, and how to buy tickets.
The Society is affiliated to ‘Making Music’ (formerly the National Federation of Music Societies) and is a registered charity (number 285555).
