Welcome to Bexhill Choral Society!
We are a friendly, enthusiastic, non-audition choral society in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.
We currently have over 50 members and warmly welcome new singers. Under our Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, we perform 3 concerts during the year, featuring a wide range of choral music.
We also organise social events and have a thriving support group of Friends.

‘Great Choral Classics III’ will include a range of great choral music with something for everyone, from ‘classical’ items such as Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Dies Irae (Requiem) and Schubert’s Ave Maria, and pieces by Beethoven, Fauré, Stainer, Haydn and Elgar, to selections from Lehar’s Merry Widow, Gilbert and Sullivan, and finally songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, including Oklahoma, Carousel, The Sound of Music and South Pacific. We are joined by soloists Peter Grevatt (baritone) and Kristy Swift (soprano), with accompaniment from the Sussex Concert orchestra, and it promises to be a wonderful evening. Tickets will be on sale from the De La Warr Pavilion Box Office only.
Please see our Future Events page for more information on upcoming events, and how to buy tickets.
For many years, we have been honoured to have Brian Kentfield, who sadly passed away on Thursday, 27 March, as our President. Brian has been a hugely respected and very popular community ‘champion’ in so many different roles and BCS has always had his enthusiastic interest and support. He and his wife Susan attended all our concerts and loved meeting both choir and audience. His dedication to and appreciation of our work with our Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, was very evident on these occasions.
Words of praise for our recent Christmas concert: “Even Scrooge would have warmed to Christmas with this presentation. It was different and fun. Conductor Ken Roberts put together a splendidly varied programme…a delightful entertaining ‘Christmas’ evening”. Lark Reviews
‘The choir has an excellent history of well-focused performances’ (Lark Reviews)
